Jorge Lemus and Michael Young of ORR had fantastic races at the 30th Ironman Subaru Canada. In the final running of the event that takes place in Penticton,BC both athletes savored the day. Jorge was solid with a 1:22:12 swim, 5:45:23 bike and 5:48:34 run making it a 13:13:56 finish!! Mike was equally strong with a 1:04:05 swim, 5:54:24 bike and 5:21:18 run coming in at 12:28:16!!! Way to race guys!!!!
Liz Baugher is turning pro as a triathlete!!! Hard work and determination have paid off at the Chicago Lifetime Fitness Olympic race for Liz. She finished third in the Invitational Wave with a 24:48 swim, 1:04:44 on the bike and 44:43 for the run. Catapulting her towards getting her USAT Pro/Elite card. WOO HOO!!!!!! Congrats Liz!!!!

ORR made a presence in Clear Lake this weekend in both the sprint and international distances. Triny Aguirre grabbed the 1st Overall Female in the Sprint with a blazing bike split, finishing in 1:07:09! Richard Tramm won the Sprint Men’s 45-49 AG in 1:08:03, and Roberto Guiot won the M35-39AG in the International Distance! Way to race, athletes!!

Congratulations to Coach Sarah Gray for finishing 4th overall pro female at the Rev 3 Race in Maine!!!! Sarah swam 21:13, biked 1:04:35 and fired off a smokin’ fast pace of 6:37 for a 40:22 run. Way to go, Sarah!! Next up is the Hyvee Championship next weekend.

Mandy Jellerichs participated in Ironman Louisville this past weekend. Despite severe cramping during the bike portion and doing everything she could to reverse the situation it never really sorted itself out. Mandy had a great swim of 1:11:31, a bike of 6:52:02 and run of 6:08:13 bringing her across the line at 14:33:10. She dug deep and pushed on to the finish! What determination and perseverance, Mandy!! Congratulations!
Liz Baugher, Adam Currier and Matt Hemberger braved the rain soaked roads for the Tri and Roadie 40K Showdown last weekend. Liz finished 2nd in her Age Group Female 20-24 with a 1:04:38. Matt rocked a 1:05:36 finishing 8th in his Age Group Male 25-29 and Adam (even with starting over 3 minutes late!) posted a SUPER-smoking 1:03:41 putting him 11th in his Age Group Male 35-39. Great racing guys and gal!!
Thomas Belsha raced Bastrop Lost Pines Tri last weekend. He finished 6th in his Age Group M 30-34 with a 1:40:58. Way to race, Thomas!!!
ORR had a great day in Vermont for the USAT Nationals. After a brutal and choppy swim, athletes fired all cylinders on the bike and hit the pavement solidly for the run. Sydney Currenti actually raced BOTH the sprint and Oly distances!! WOW! She finished 1:24:24 for the Sprint and 2:57:14 for the Oly. John posted a fine finish of 2:16:38- fastest Texan in the M40-44 Age Group. Lisa had a super finish time of 2:47:56. Sydney placed 24th in her age group Female 15-19 for the sprint and 16th in the Oly distance! Great show, all!! Well done!

Coach Nathan Winkelmann and Brandon Barber tore up the course at Waco Xterra this last weekend. Wink finished 1st place Overall with a 2:54:19 and the fastest bike split of the day, 1:17:25. Brandon Barber finished 23rd Overall with a 3:38:40 and the 6th fastest bike split of the day,1:31:46. The course was altered a bit due to rain. Instead of one big loop for the bike and run the route was changed to 2 smaller loops. Way to represent!!! Great job Wink and Brandon!
