The OutRival Racing Coaching Staff got together last weekend for a 2012 planning session. The coaches of ORR are fired-up and excited about what’s in store for 2012! The OutRival Racing Vision is two-fold: to help athletes reach their athletic/fitness goals as well as provide a fun, positive, and motivating environment. We believe athletes want to feel good about their training and racing as well as have some fun along the way. We will continue to offer quality coaching, weekly group sessions, and monthly weekend sessions as well as team socials in 2012. We are planning to have monthly bike rides, clinics, training camps and much more next year!
Thank you to all of our sponsors for their incredible support. Thanks also to all the athletes who have made the ORR Team an incredible one! We appreciate you!! Below is our team of coaches. Matt Hemberger couldn’t make the photo shoot, but he’s still alive and kicking with us!
Congrats to Terry Garrett for finishing third overall in his first-ever multi-sport event at the Waco Duathlon on Saturday. Fourty-eight-year old, Terry, easily had the fastest run splits of the day! He ran the first 3.4 miles in 19:48, or 5:49 min/mile pace. He biked 9 miles at 20 mph, and then finished the off-road two mile run at 6:20 min/mile pace. Terry comes from a very competitive running background and is now looking at racing in duathlons and triathlons. That bike split is going to get much faster over the winter! Watch out everyone, this guy is going to rock it at the races in 2012!!! Way to race Terry!
Congrats to Richard Tramm for yet ANOTHER personal record! Richard raced the local Run the Woods 5K on Saturday and finished in 22:43, or 7:19 min/mile pace. Over the last couple of years, Richard has proven that hard work, discipline, and a big heart will take you places you might not even be able to imagine. Keep it going, Richard!
Congrats to three ORR athletes for awesome racing at the Veteran’s Day 10K in the Woodlands. Adam Currier, John Laskowski, and Jonathan Knapp all had fantastic races!! This race also helps raise money for our Armed Forces.
Adam Currier finished fourth overall and 1st in the 35-39AG with a time of 38:54. That’s a speedy personal best!
John Laskowski finished fifteen overall and 2nd in the 40-44AG with a time of 43:49.
Jonathan Knapp finished nineteenth overall and 4th in the 30-34AG with a time of 44:41.
Way to fly guys!!
