Coach Lisa Jaster toed the line for the first time since August 2010. She took an extended leave from racing to move back to Houston from New Orleans, have sinus surgery, and have a baby. Lisa placed 4th in her age group at the Dad’s Day 5k on June 15th. The race bug strikes again!! Her calendar is quickly filling up with races. Welcome back, Lisa!
A hearty congratulations to Alan Jones on completing his first Olympic triathlon!!! Of course no race is complete without a glitch in plans. Despite his bike being lost in transit to Philly AND having to rent a road bike at the last minute this Philly native placed top 3rd in his AG, Male 40-44. Good show, Alan!
In what was a FREEZING race in Boise, Lisa Berman braved the cold water temps, shortened bike course due to snow and 13.1 mile run giving her 12th in her AG, Women 45-49. Way to GO, Lisa!!!
Coaches Michelle LeBlanc and Sarah Gray represented well in New Orleans. On what proved to be a sweltering day in the Big Easy Michelle finished 1st in the Amateur Elite Division with a 2:22:19 and Sarah finished 4th in the Pro Division with a 2:16:19 and the second fastest run of the day. Congrats to Liz Baugher on a fine finish at the Baltimore 10 miler on 16 June 2012. Liz ran a 1:08 securing second in her AG, 25-29 Female. And, a 10th woman overall with more than 6500 participants!! Well done, Liz!
Five OutRival Racing athletes had a great results at the Muleshoe XTerra race in Austin, TX last weekend. Brandon Barber finished second in his 25-29AG. Coach Nathan Winklemann finished second overall finisher and 1st in the 30-34AG. Mikey Benes and Raul Luzardo finished 5th and 6th in the 35-39AG, and Brian Perry finished 4th in the 40-44AG. Kim Juul finished 3rd in the competitive 30-34 Age Group at the Sylvan Beach Triathlon last weekend. She swam 19:35 for the 1K open water swim, biked 21.9 mph for the 18 mile bike (fastest in her AG!) and ran 8:43 min/mile for the four mile run. Overall time for Kim was 1:53:28. Great job Kim!
James Engle continues to race all over the world! James has raced in Abu Dhabi, Italy, and now Rhode Island in the last couple of months. James did a sprint triathlon in Rhode Island (on a pack-away bike with clip on aero bars!) and won the Clydesdale division!! James finished 24th overall as well. James had a fantastic swim, one of the fastest bike splits, and hung on for a solid run. James is back in Texas for June and plans to do some local cycling races and triathlons. Way to go James!

OutRival Racing had some fantastic results at the Tejas Sprint Triathlon today in Sugar Land! Sixteen ORR Athletes raced this event, and six athletes had the honor of receiving a podium award. Several athletes set personal bests for this event as well.
Matthew Perches finished second in the 15-19AG with a time of 58:15. Matthew biked 25mph and ran 18:50 for 5K!
Jarrett Hubert won the 25-29AG with a time of 57:40! Jarrett biked 26.4mph and ran 18:54 for 5K.
Roberto Guiot and Adam Currier took 1st and 3rd in the Men’s 35-39AG. Roberto finished in 55:42, and Adam did 57:58 (after setting a 5K PR yesterday in the Heights 5K!). Sergio Roldan finished 7th, Jay Cimo finished 12th, and Bryan Kraham finished 13th in same competitive AG.
Alan Jones finished 7th in the Men’s 40-44AG with a time of 1:04:30.
Allison Eden won the women’s 15-19AG with a speedy 1:08:17 finish time. Kim Juul finished fifth in the 35-39 AG with a 1:05:30.
Triny Aguirre raced on the first place women’s relay team, “The Tejas Tehotties”. Triny biked 25.8mph!!
