Bill Oliver has definitely caught the triathlon bug. He completed his first tri in March and has completed 6 this season already. Last weekend, he demonstrated what dedication to training really accomplishes. Some buddies egged him into signing up for the Tom Hoskins Memorial Triathlon only three days before the race date and less than a month after his last race, Tri the Midlands. Bill posted phenominal times improving his swim splits yet again. Bill finished this sprint in just over an hour and had a strong finish! Great job Bill!
Forty-one year old Rafael Mercado had a fantastic race at the notoriously hot and hilly Disco Triathlon in Dallas Texas this past weekend. Rafa swam a solid 33:57 for 1500 meter non-wetsuit swim, coming out 3rd in his age group. He passed two men on the bike course to arrive to T2 in 1st place with a smoking 1:10 ride on the challenging course. Once on the run, Rafael held on for 2nd place in a tight race! Way to go Rafael!
