Houston Marathon Results

Congratulations to all the athletes who ran the Houston Half Marathon and Marathon on January 30th, 2011.  Thirteen OutRival Racing athletes raced this morning, including Connor Barry, Shannon Butkus, Mary Kay Cooper, Raul Luzardo, Kelley Golden, Sarah Gray, Blake Henning, Sasja Jackson, Don Harris, Brandon Pounds, Jill Mills, Jen Severns and Melissa Rothe.
Numerous ORR athletes set personal records this weekend! Sixteen year-old Connor Barry had an incredible race finishing the Half Marathon with a 7 minute PR or 1:27:57, or 6:43 min/mile pace. Sarah Gray tied her personal best with a 1:36:05, or 7:20 half-marathon pace.  Melissa Rothe set a four minute personal best in 1:42:04 or 7:47 pace. Raul Luzardo finished the Half in 1:45, or 8:00min/mile pace, which is a 3 minute personal record for him.  Sasja Jackson finished the Full Marathon with a 4 minute personal best in 3:38:41, or 8:21 pace. Sasja also qualified for the Boston Marathon.

Volunteers Needed for Ironman Texas

The Lonestar Multisport Club will be volunteering at a Run Station for Ironman Texas!  Please consider volunteering your time (or family members if you are participating) for this awesome event!! 
A LOT of Volunteers are needed to make this event successful.

Frost yer Fanny Duathlon

OutRival Racing athletes at Frost yer Fanny Duathlon:

Coach Karen Maldonado, Connor Barry, and Adam Currier
This early season Duathlon is a fun way to throw in a fun race before the triathlon season gets underway.  Eight OutRival Racing athletes raced Frost yer Fanny in Bear Creek Park.  Five of them were first-time duathletes, including Adam Currier, Matt Hemberger, Karen Maldonado, Allison Eden, and Jill Mills.  Adam Currier finished 3rd in his AG (20th overall), Connor Barry finished 3rd in his AG (23rd overall) and Karen Maldonado finished 2nd in her AG. USA Fit Half and Full Marathon

Christi Moore and Leslie Dupuy raced the USA Fit Half Marathon last weekend and had great races!! Christi raced the Half Marathon and Leslie raced the Full Marathon.  Despite the rainy weather coniditons, Christi finished in 1:50:38, or or 8:21 min/mile pace. Christi finished 9th overall in her 30-39 Age Group.  Leslie ran the soggy marathon in 4 hours and 40 minutes and finished 9 out of 40 in her 40-49 Age Group.  


Next up for Christi is the New Orleans Full Marathon.  Leslie is preparing for the Hog’s Hunt 50K trail run in early April.

Corey Oliver PR at the San Diego 5K

Corey Oliver’s weekend started out badly when the LSU Tigers OutRivaled the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl Friday night .  But by Sunday, things got better and he set a new 5K Personal Record!  He ran 20:37 at the San Diego 5K mile splits of 6:52, 6:46, and 6:36.  Corey finished third out of 63 in his age group and 12th out of nearly 500 runners! Way to run, Corey!

Liz Berry at the Kingwood Half Marathon

Congratulations to Liz Berry for a strong race at the Kingwood Half Marathon on New Years’ Day! Liz finished the two-loop course in 2 hours and 7 minutes, or 9:42 min/mile pace. 
Liz plans has a goal of breaking 2 hours in a couple months at the Angie’s Half Marathon.  Way to go Liz!

Several OutRival Racing athletes are racing this upcoming weekend.  Leslie Dupuy is running the USA Fit Marathon, Christi Moore is running the USA Fit Half Marathon, and Robert Nelson is running the Brazos Bend Trail Run Half Marathon.  Good luck OutRival Racing runners!
