Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas 2012 brought an amazing field of athletes to the Woodlands this past Saturday, May 19th, 2012. Race morning temperatures were cool at the swim by Texas standards, but the day began to heat up as soon as the sun came out full-force. Eventually the athletes were met by windy conditions and a searing sun on the bike course. The run course gave no reprieve. Despite conditions that have now given Ironman Texas a “tough” reputation, the OutRival Racing athletes proved to be tougher! Among the group were several smoking fast splits and finish times, Ironman PRs, and even a Kona Qualifier! Congratulations to OutRival Racing athletes and their families for making it through an exhilarating but very challenging day!
Below are the results for ORR. Congrats to Coach Michelle LeBlanc for winning the 35-39AG, finishing 8th overall female, and qualifying for the Kona Ironman World Championships. Bob Maus finished 15th in the 45-49 AG with a 10:39:25. Roberto Guiot, Tate Wright, and Nathan Winkelmann also finished in the top 10 in the AGs with sub-11 times! Courtney Livaudais had the third fastest amateur swim time at 58 minutes. Way to go ORR!

Coach Michelle LeBlanc with a Kona Qualifying, Age Group victory finish in 9:53
Great job athletes!
Terry Garrett had a great race at the Corsicana Stage Race on May 9th and 10th. Twenty-one athletes started, and Terry finished his first stage race in 12th place. The first stage was crit (which was Terry’s first crit!), the second was a 10K TT, and the third was a Road Race. Proud of you for toe-ing the line in that crit race, Terry!
Three ORR ladies raced the Conn’s Green 10K on April 28th. This race is the premier eco-friendly green running event in Houston during Earth Week. The Race is put on by our very own sponsor, Race Assist.
Good luck to the forty-two ORR athletes who will be racing Ironman Texas in a few weeks!

| Kim Juul with her medal and her baby! |
Congrats to Kim Juul for winning first overall female at the No Label Triathlon on April 28th. This new sprint triathlon started at Morton Ranch Natatorium with a 300 meter pool swim, followed by a 14 mile bike ride to the No Label Brewing Company, and finished with a 3 mile run. Kim swam 4:52, biked 39:08, and ran 20:17 at this sprint triathlon. Way to go Kim!!
Congrats to the 53 OutRival Racing triathletes who competed at CB&I Triathlon in the Woodlands on Saturday, May 5th. This 500 meter lake swim, 15 mile bike, and 5K run is held in the backyard of many ORR athletes. It was a nice beautiful humid May day in Texas. Several athletes finished their first-ever triathlon and numerous PRs were set despite the tough climate. Twenty-one athletes had the honor of receiving a podium award. As always, the ORR Team had incredible support out on the course! Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on!!
