Alan Jones toughed out a a hot and hilly course at the Marble Falls Tri just west of Austin. Alan grabbed a 2:09:37 finish time! Great job!
Ironman Erica Gault
Congratulations to Erica Gault on her first Ironman! She raced the very challenging Ironman Lake Placid in New York on Sunday. She had an INCREDIBLE experience!! On what was fantastic ironman racing weather, Erica exited the water in a speedy 1:10:40. After a tough and hilly 7:32:25 bike, she pushed a 6:10:16 run with a finish of 15:11:22!! Way to go, Erica! YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
A hearty congratulations to Andrew Cashion for winning the overall title at the Tri Waco Sprint on Sunday! Andrew flew to the finish at the in 59:46, almost 2 minutes faster than the next competitor. Andrew biked 25.4 mph for the 20K bike and had the fastest run of the day at 6 min/mile pace for 5K (results have T1 in the run time). Andrew races representing ORR as well as the JSC Team (aka “the Jackstrop Catapult guys”). Awesome job!

OutRival Racing had the privilege of being a sponsor of the second annual Shadow Creek Sprint Triathlon in Pearland, Texas. Race Director, Bryan Kraham, who is also part of the ORR Team, did a fantastic job of putting on this race. Twenty-eight ORR athletes raced at Shadow Creek and as a team, we had the privilege of earning 10 podium awards.
ORR athletes claimed the overall male and female titles as well as three of the top four overall female times!
Coach Karen Maldonado secured the overall female 1st place with solid splits in all three disciplines and a 1:15:31 overall time.
Coach Grace Benes-who was two months POST baby- claimed 2nd place overall female with a 1:16:26. Grace had the fastest overall female swim split of the day as well. Well done lil’ mama!
Bradley Pigage snagged 1st place male overall with the fastest bike of the day and an impressive 1:04:49 finish. Jarrett Hubert finished 6th in the Elite Wave!
Tate Wright grabbed 3rd place Male Masters with a 1:12:13.
Erin Carey was the first overall non-elite finisher and 1st in Female 30-34 posting a 1:16:51.
Courtney Livaidais earned 3rd place in Females 25-29 with a very fast swim, crossing the line in 1:22:49.
Kim Juul finished 2nd in Females 35-39 with a super-speedy bike and a finishing time of 1:20:55.
Lisa Berman used this as a training race for USAT Nationals next month and finished 1st place amongst the 45-49AG.
Stephen Johnson finished 3rd place finish in Males 30-34 with a 1:11:11.
Ed Wandell sped to the finish with a super-fast run with a 1:21:33 and a 3rd place in Males 55-59.

Outstanding results at the Texas Star Tri! Eighteen-year-old Connor Barry finished second overall (1st in the 15-19 AG), Richard Tramm finished 1st in the 40-44 AG, and Alan Jones finished second in the 35-39 AG. Way to go, guys!!

ORR had some fantastic results at the Aggieland Sprint Triathlon. John Laskowski finished 3rd overall, Mathew Perches finished 1st in the 15-19 AG, and Corey Oliver finished 2nd in the 30-34 AG. Wow! What an awesome day for these athletes!!

Triny Aguirre had the best 70.3 race yet with a 6 minute swim PR and an 11 minute run PR (on a very tough run course). Despite 3 flats on the bike (ugh!) she cruised to a 6:25:18 finish. Way to stick it out Triny!
Congrats to Todd Teren for his overall victory at the Calgary Olympic Triathlon! Great job!! Todd had a fantastic race and won by several minutes. Todd is living in Calgary this year but plans to come race in Texas soon. Next up for Todd is the Bridgeland Sprint Tri on August 5th. Great job Todd!
