Toyota U.S. Open Olympic Triathlon

Congrats to Coach Grace Benes, Liz Baugher , Amiee Bagley and Thomas Belsha for their awesome races at Toyota US OPEN! Grace and Liz finished 3rd and 4th Overall in the competitive Elite Amateur Wave. Grace swam 20:29, biked,1:10:18 and ran 40:55 for a finish of 2:16:05. Liz had a swim of 22:49, bike 1:07:57 and run 41:20 with a finish of 2:16:37. Aimee was 7th her AG 25-29 F. She did her swim 27:18, bike, 1:18:43 and run 49:48 crossing the finish in 2:41:52...awesome for her Olympic Triathlon debut. And Thomas persevered through illness with a swim 40:27, bike 1:33:40 and run 59:45 breaking the tape at 3:22:03. Great job guys!!!

Loftin, Jones and Cashion take on Kerrville Half Ironman

Congrats to Sasha Loftin, Alan Jones and Andrew Cashion for great racing at the Kerville Half Ironman!!! Alan placed 11th in 40-44M AG. Swim, 40:26. bike, 3:04:28 and run 1:59:46 crossing the line in 5:48:41. Andrew finished 3rd in his AG 25-29M with a swim of 35:33, a blazing bike of 2:31:09 and run 1:46:28 finishing 4:56:35.And Sasja finished 6th in F35-39 AG completing the swim, 41:22, bike 3:04:00, run 1:55:02 hitting the finish line at 5:44:24. The bike had brutal winds and the run was a toughie!!! Both of these athletes are training for Ironmans in October. Way to race and best of luck!

Triny Aguirre, Leonel Guerrero represent in Fulshear

ORR athletes Triny Aguirre and Leonel Guerrero took to the cool temps and wind at Oktoberfest Triathlon this past weekend. Triny secured a 1st place Overall Female a 7:46 swim, 41:51 bike and 22:13 run hitting the finish in 1:13:30! Leo had a swim of 7:25, bike 47:57 and run 21:49 for a 1:20:32! Way to race!!

A big shout out to Stephen Wren, Jorge Lemus and Tammy Darnell. These ORR athletes ran the Chicago Marathon last weekend. Steve crossed the finish in 3:28 and Jorge ran his way to a PR in 3:52! Tammy cruised to 4:55:54 finish. Way to race, everyone!

Todd Teren blazes through Milwaukee

A huge congratulations to Todd Teren. He finished 19th OVERALL out of more than 2000 runners at the Milwaukee Marathon this past weekend. In what was his first-ever 26.2 mile run (or race)! Todd started out at around 6:20 pace and negative split down into the low 6s for an overall final time of 2:43:09, or 6:14 pace. WOW! ORR is very excited that Todd will be joining the coaching staff starting in 2013. Congrats to you Todd!

Houston Triathlon Oly and Sprint

Unfortunately, the weather caused the Houston Tri was reduced to an aquathon. But, despite the changes ORR represented well. OutRival Racing received 4 out of the top 10!! Congrats to Sarah Gray, Liz Baugher, Leslie Clinchard and Courtney Livaudais. Sarah and Liz finish 1-2 for the Oly!!! Erin Rivers took 11th in 30-34F AG. Jenny Holzaepfel picked up 8th in 30-34F AG, Melissa Stanosheck posted an 11th place finish 30-34F AG. Pam Hill had her best finish to date placing 12th in F40-44, smoking the run with an 8:18 pace! Cathy Cook took 10th in 45-49F AG Stephen Johnson finished 4th in 30-34M, Pablo Gomez took 8th in AG 30-34M. Yuji Iwanaka took the 3rd place spot for AG 35-39 and Sergio Roldan secured 10th in AG 35-39M. Guillermo Maldonado snagged 3rd place in AG 45-49M, Leonel Guerrero took 8th in AG 45-49M and John Oldfield took 10th along with Rick Thibodeaux making the grab for 11th both in 45-49M AG. Racing in Clydesdale 40 and over Jamie Farmer ran away with 1st place, Blake Henning 5th, Brian Perry 11th, Blake Jehle 13th and Eduardo Briz 16th, respectively.

The sprint distance also had great results. Dee Dee Hurst 2nd place 35-39F AG and Loan Phan placed 5th 35-39F AG. In the 40-44F AG Sandra Braniff took 6th and Lynn Flora placed 11th with a more than 13 minute PR on the run!! Matthew Perches continues to podium taking 1st in 15-19M AG and 3rd Overall. Mandy Heintz takes 1st on Cat 3 road race

A hearty congratulations to Mandy Heintz for WINNING her first-ever Cat 3 Road Race! The event took place at the State Championship race. Mandy races for Shama Cycles and ORR. In addition, Mandy finished 3rd in the Texas State Age-Based Championship. She got beat by two Cat 1 gals only. Wow! Way to wrap up a great triathlon/road racing season, Mandy!
