Allison Atkinson

Hometown: Austin, TX

Allison Atkinson is a Category 2 road racer from Austin, Texas where she started as a soccer player at St. Edward’s University. After suffering a severe knee injury, she was reduced to spinning on indoor gym bikes to maintain fitness, eventually becoming an instructor. Certified in a number of other group fitness disciplines, Allison pursued weightlifting and became an elite instructor for Les Mills International. It wasn’t until she began training with a small group called Austin Cycle Camp that the thought of racing became a reality; coaches saw her natural talent and encouraged her to give it a go. After a streak of wins, she knew she loved cycling and, without hesitation, devoted her life to the sport. Now she is employed by two of her major supporters: Austin Tri Cyclist and Pure Austin Fitness. This gives her the flexibility to race, train and write for the local fitness magazine, Austin Fit. She looks forward to impacting more cities in addition to Austin by racing nationwide for many seasons to come.
