OutRival Racing coaches offer Personal Online Coaching and Semi-Custom Online Training Plans to help triathletes, runners, and cyclists reach their goals. Athletes work with an individual coach for the Personal Online Coaching and the Semi-Custom Training Plan. Coaches have limited availability; please fill out an Athlete Questionnaire to schedule a consultation.

Personal Online Coaching

Personal Online Coaching comes with a customized, hand-crafted training schedule and ongoing communication with an experienced coach. All local training sessions are open to personally coached athletes at no extra cost. OutRival Racing Personal Online Coaching comes with:

  • Personal Online Training Peaks account to schedule and log workouts
  • Customized Training Plan to fit your schedule and fitness goals
  • Personal Intensity Zone Training
  • Continuous performance testing
  • Weekly scheduling and weekly athlete monitoring

ORR coaches have a variety of backgrounds and are classified as Senior, Premier, or Expert based on their certifications and coaching experience. Personal coaching requires a 3-month minimum commitment.

  • Senior Coach: $120/month
  • Premier Coach: $150/month
  • Expert Coach: $250/month
  • Single-Sport Coaching rates: $95/month for Senior and Premier; $150 for Expert

Semi-Custom Training Plans

OutRival Racing Semi-Custom Online Training Plans feature a customized, hand-crafted training schedule designed for a particular race. The plan is designed based on YOUR personal intensity zones as well as your current fitness and race goals. No changes can be made to the plan after it has been constructed, and the ORR Semi-Custom plans come with minimal (one email per month) coaching communication.

Semi-Custom Training Plan Options:

  • 14-Week Sprint or Olympic Triathlon: $275
  • 18-Week IRONMAN 70.3 event, IRONMAN event, or long-course triathlon: $375
  • 16-Week Half or Full Marathon: $195

Consultations and One-on-one Training Sessions

  • Swimming Lesson: Learn how to swim freestyle and/or other stokes
  • Open Water Swim Swim Session: Individual Practice Session in Local Lake
  • Cycling Skills and Efficiency: Indoor or outdoor session on skills such as pedaling efficiency, cornering, shifting, and race tactics.
  • Cycling Lactate Threshold Heart Rate or Funtional Threshold Power Test: Indoor or outdoor session to test LTHR, FTP, or both (power meter can be borrowed from ORR for testing).
  • Bike Safety and Maintenance: Learn how to ride safely and keep your bike running smoothly.
  • Running LTHR Test: Treadmill test for Lactate Threshold Heartrate
  • Running Time Trial: Field test to to calculate Lactate Threshold Heartrate or Pacing Zones
  • Running Mechanics Lesson: Run mechanics instruction to improve form and efficiency
  • Triathlon Transition Practice: Practice, proper setup, transition protocol, mount and dismount options, etc.
  • Nutritional Analysis: Optimizing training and race-day nutrition and hydration
  • Nutritional Consultation: Discuss and refine a race fueling plan
  • Mental Skills Consultation: Improve your mental game so that you put all that hard training to optimal use.
  • Miscellaneous: Learn how to change a flat, pack a bike for airline travel, race prep, improve mental skills, etc
