Our Group Training programs are designed around specific triathlon and running races. Several of the coached sessions are open to all OutRival Racing Team athletes, which makes for a great Team atmosphere. Group programs are led by our certified Coaching Staff. PERSONAL COACHING

The Coaching Staff of OutRival Racing accepts clients on an individual basis. Contact information for each coach can be found on the Coaches' page. The vision at OutRival Racing is to help each athlete reach his or her individual athletic goals. The ORR Group Training Sessions are open to all athletes coached either personally or in a group program. All group sessions are subject to change for personally coached athletes. Currently, we offer Tuesday evening run/track sessions, Sunday long runs, Saturday weekly bike sessions, and Monday/Friday Tri-Specific Swims at the Conroe Nat. Initial consultation is free. Level 1 Basic Coaching

The Basic Coaching package includes a detailed Training Plan customized to fit your schedule and fitness goals. It includes detailed scheduling on a monthly basis and uses Training Peaks to schedule and log workouts. It allows for monthly scheduling input and athlete monitoring. The Basic Coaching Package includes heart-rate and/or power-based training and includes continuous aerobic testing and lactate threshold field-testing. Communication is limited to one weekly email correspondence initiated by the athlete.

Level 2 Personal Coaching

The Personal Coaching package includes a detailed Training Plan customized to fit your schedule and fitness goals. It includes detailed scheduling on a weekly basis and uses Training Peaks to schedule and log workouts. It allows for weekly scheduling input and athlete monitoring. The Personal Coaching Package includes heart-rate and/or power-based training and includes continuous aerobic testing and lactate threshold field-testing. It includes unlimited contact via email and phone. Monday/Friday Tri-Specific Swims are included in Level 2.

Level 3 One-On-One Coaching

The One-On-One Coaching Package entails full-service coaching. It includes a detailed Training Plan in Training Peaks customized to fit your schedule and fitness goals. It includes continuous communication as well as two monthly one-on-one coached sessions of the athletes' choice. It includes detailed scheduling on a weekly basis and athlete monitoring on a daily basis. The One-on-One Coaching Package includes heart-rate and/or power-based training and includes continuous aerobic testing and lab-based lactate threshold testing. It includes continual communication via phone, email, and in-person. The One-on-One Coaching Package includes the utmost attention to detail, including sports nutritional analysis, equipment selection/modification, progressive technique/form analysis, video-tape analysis, open-water swimming, heart rate testing, mental race prep and more. Monday/Friday Tri-Specific Swims are included in Level 3.

PROFESSIONAL BIKE FITTING

Coach Nathan Winkelmann is F.I.S.T. Certified and does professional bike fittings for triathlon, road, and mountain biking. The cost is only $100 for personally-coached ORR athletes or $150 for non-ORR athletes. Fitting sessions take approximately 60-90 minutes. Please contact us for more details.


COACHED SESSIONS

Coached Session/Consultation: $75 per workout or hour consultation.


Here are the list of available sessions to choose from:
  • Swimming: Learn how to swim freestyle and/or other stokes
  • Open Water Swim Swim Session: Individual Practice Session in Lake Conroe with support
  • Cycling Skills and Efficiency: Indoor or outdoor session on skills such as pedaling efficiency, cornering, shifting, and race tactics.
  • Cycling Lactate Threshold Heart Rate or Funtional Threshold Power Test: Indoor or outdoor session to test LTHR, FTP, or both (power meter can be borrowed from ORR for testing).
  • Bike Safety and Maintenance: Learn how to ride safely and keep your bike running smoothly.
  • Running LTHR Test: Treadmill test for Lactate Threshold Heartrate
  • Running Time Trial: Field test to to calculate Lactate Threshold Heartrate or Pacing Zones
  • Running Mechanics Lesson: Run mechanics instruction to improve form and efficiency
  • Transition Practice: Practice, proper setup, transition protocol, mount and dismount options, etc.
  • Nutritional Analysis: Optimizing training and race-day nutrition and hydration
  • Miscellaneous: Learn how to change a flat, pack a bike for airline travel, prepare for a race, improve mental skills, etc.
TRI-SPECIFIC SWIMMING

OutRival Racing Triathlon-Specific Swims, Mondays and Fridays, Noon-1PM, year-round.
Location: Conroe ISD Natatorium (behind Sam's Club on I-45N).
Swim practice is mostly freestyle and includes tips on how to swim in open water.
Swimmers of all abilities welcome! Free for OutRival Racing Team.
