OutRival Racing at the CB&I Triathlon
The local CB&I Triathlon celebrated it's 10th year in the Woodlands, and OutRival Racing athletes had an incredible day. Many first-timers crossed their first-ever triathlon finish-line, numerous personal records were set, and many goals were met! ORR athletes had the honor of receiving over 30 podium awards including 7 out of 9 of the Elite Male spots, the top two Female Elite finishers, the top Overall Age-Group Male Finisher, the top Masters' Female, as well as numerous Age-Group podium awards.
Best male performances of the day go to 22-year old Scott Wilkinson and 18-year old Matthew Perches. Scott took a break from studying for his Finals at Texas A&M to come race this morning; he hammered out the fastest run-split of the day at 5:29 pace, coming within 45-seconds of repeat winner Balasz Coske! Eigtheen-year-old Matthew (who lost his bike a couple months ago as it took a suicide jump off his car onto I-45) had the 5th overall Fastest time including elites as well as the fastest Male Age-Group time. The OutRival Racing men took 6 of the top 10 spots and 24 of the top 40.
Best female performance of the day goes to Grace Benes with the overall female win of 1:09:31, the second fastest-swim time of the day right behind the male Elite winner. The ORR Women took 7 of the top 10 spots as well as podium awards in almost every age-group and a podium sweep in the 45-49AG! Way to go ladies! ORR Athletes participated in the winning relays for the Mixed, Women's and Men's Divisions as well and took the top spot in the Athena division. The OutRival Racing Coaches are so very proud of each and every athlete for your dedication and hard work!
