Wow!!! What a Day in Kemah!
Congrats to all the ORR Athletes who had great races at the sprint and olympic triathlons in Kemah last weekend! Several athletes finished their first-ever triathlon and numerous PRs were set despite crazy winds and a tough course. Notable finishes include:
In the Olympic race,
finished first overall female in 2:10:07.
finished 5th in 2:15:45.
finished 8th in 2:20:13.
finished 10th in 2:28:03.
was the first Age Group female finisher in 2:28:00 and won the Women's 25-29AG.
The ORR men were extremely competitive as well!
finished 9th in 2:07:32 and had the second fastest bike split of the day.
finished his first-ever Olympic distance triathlon in 12th place in 2:08:05 with one of the fastest run splits of the day.
finished 2nd in the competitive 35-39AG with a 2:23:33.
finished 5th in the same AG with a 2:25:27.
finished 3rd in the Clydesdales with a 2:53:04.
* gets the Way to Gut it Out Award by pressing on to the finish line after a flat on the bike!
In the Sprint Race, finished first overall Masters female with a time of 1:20:48.
and not only finished 1st and 2nd in the Women's under 20 division, but they also finished 2nd and 3rd out of ALL female athletes! And these gals are just teenagers. Wow!
also had a fantastic race! Connor finished 2nd in the under 20 division and 4th out of ALL male finishers. Again, just a teenager. The ORR youngsters are racing well this year!!

In the Olympic race, 5 of the overall top 11 women's finishes go to the ORR women!!
Sarah Gray finished first overall female in 2:10:07.
Michelle LeBlancfinished 5th in 2:15:45.
Liz Baugher finished 8th in 2:20:13.
Mandy Heintz finished 10th in 2:28:03.
Melanie Benson was the first Age Group female finisher in 2:28:00 and won the Women's 25-29AG.
