Bio: I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA as a runner. I competed in cross country and track through high school and then for Penn State University. After college I continued to race anything from 5K to marathons before injuries slowed me down significantly. It was at this point I got the idea to do a triathlon, despite the fact that I didn't know how to swim and didn't own a bike. In 2006 I did my first sprint triathlon and never looked back. I raced as a pro for 6 seasons and then "retired" to mountain biking (Leadville 100), ultra running (JFK 50), and other adventures, before finding my way BACK to Ironman in 2021!
