Mary Kelley is a USAT Level 1 Certified Triathlon Coach, All-

American Triathlete, Wife and Mother of 4 children. After 12

years in the corporate world, with coaching as a part-time

passion, Mary retired from IT Consulting in early 2009 to focus

on coaching, and has been committed to serving athletes ever

since. She helps athletes pursue their peak athletic potential

while managing a healthy work-life balance. “Work hard, have

fun, and give yourself some grace.”

Mary grew up a competitive swimmer and water polo player,

owing her love of athletics to a family that included 4 sporty brothers, plus an incredible

high school swim coach (who himself still competes in triathlon). She founded the women’s

water polo team at the University of Notre Dame in 1994, completed her first triathlon in

2000 (Lake Saint Louis), and proudly served as a member of Team USA in the Hawaii

(2005) and Switzerland (2006) World Championships. Over the next 12 years, she became

a mom (4 times), grew her coaching business, and started vibrant, all-inclusive triathlon

teams in both Philadelphia and Al Ain, UAE. She has dozens of First Place Overall finishes to

her name and continues to compete as an elite amateur.

With more than 20 years of experience in the sport of triathlon, and over 28 years of

competitive swimming and coaching experience, Mary embraces both the “art” and

“science” aspects of triathlon. A dedicated student of the sport, she continually pursues

educational opportunities with industry-leading experts such as QT2, USAT and

TrainingPeaks. At the same time, Mary draws on her intuition and personal experiences

working with a variety of athletes of all ages, from ages 8 to 85+, and all levels from brandnew

beginners to seasoned elite athletes. Her cheery disposition and positive attitude have

supported hundreds of athletes in achieving multisport success, whether it’s learning to

swim, completing their first sprint triathlon or Ironman with confidence, or qualifying for

National and World Championship events.

Currently living in the United Arab Emirates outside of Dubai, Mary has trained, raced and

coached all over the world, including the United States, Australia, Europe and the Middle

East.
