Bridgeland Sprint Triathlon

The Bridgeland Sprint Triathlon on the NW side of Houston is an awesome event!! OutRival Racing had a great turnout with spectacular results! Eight triathletes suffered through August-in-Houston conditions in the 500m swim/14-mile bike/3.5 mile run event. Congrats to everyone who raced!
Chris Nichols finished 20th in the competitive 35-39 Age Group. His splits were 9:53 swim, 21.9 mph bike, and 7:46 run pace. Total time for Chris was 1:19:28. Derek McCoy finished in the top half of the Clydesdale division with a really impressive swim time! Derek had the third fastest swim in 8:28, the sixth fastest bike at 21.7 mph, and a solid run time. Derek's overall time was 1:36:35. The "Most Improved Triathlete" award should go to Richard Tramm, who also finished in the top half of his age group. Richard finished the swim in 12:16, biked close to 20 mph, and ran 10:02 pace. Richard's overall time was 1:34:16. Great job guys!

Courtney Reich and Allison Eden pulled a 1-2 finish in the 15-19 Age Group.
Seventeen year old Courtney swam a speedy 8:30 swim, biked 20.1 mph, an ran 7:41 pace. Total finish time for Courtney was 1:19:26.
Fifteen year old Allison Eden (in photo) swam a 9:17, biked 20.0 mph, and ran 8:59 pace. Allison will be running Cross Country this year in High School as well as doing a couple triathlons in the Fall.

Saray Gray finished 1st in the 20-24 Age Group with fast splits in all three disciplines. Sarah swam a blazing 7:39, biked a personal best of 21.8mph, and ran 6:57 pace. Her total time was 1:12:53. This is Sarah's first year to do triathlons, so even faster times are coming from this athlete! Her sister Amy won the 25-29 Age Group. Must be in the genes!

Adam Currier finished a strong second in the 30-34 Age Group. This is Adam's first year to compete in triathlons, and this was his first time to do an open water swim in a triathlon. He swam the 500m in 9:00, biked 23.6 mph, and ran 6:42 pace. His total time was 1:10:44. This put Adam in the top 15 overall!

Sheri O'Keefe finished second in the 50-54 Age Group with a 10:52 swim, 21.6 mph bike, and 8:05 pace run. Total time for Sheri was 1:20:32. Sheri had a great race, particularly considering she is in the middle of some tough Ironman Cozumel training!
Great job OutRival Racing Team!!
Good luck to ORR athletes competing this weekend, including Megan Williams and Kelly Jenkins at the TriGirl Sprint, and James Engle and John Wilmeth at the Texas State Individual Time Trial.
