Keith Walker
Goal Race 70.3 Florida - Haines City
Bio: Keith, or “Captain Neon,” is a fraud examiner and paralegal. He is married and lives with his husband and their dogs in Archer, Florida. Captain Neon has been running for 2 years. He enjoys running half marathons and has run races at various distances, including: 2 marathons, 8 half marathons, 2 Ragnar Relays, and will be running the 2016 Space Coast Marathon and the 2017 Chicago Marathon.

Captain Neon is a brand new triathlete and was inspired by running coach (Patrick Gallagher) and members of his run training group who are Ironman Finishers (Susan Blake, George Blake, Tim Donovan, Jeff Godman, Karen Harbough, and LaVonne). He will be running his first Ironman 70.3 on April 9, 2017 in Haines City, Florida. His goals are quite simple: have fun, finish, look good, don’t quit, and don’t die.

Keith has a positive attitude, trains hard, and competes for those who can’t. In February 2016, Keith ran the 26.2 with Donna Marathon (a breast cancer awareness event) in Jacksonville, Florida, to honor a dear friend, fellow runner, and two-time breast cancer survivor, Catherine Martin. He had the honor and privilege to share the course with such an inspirational woman who went on to win the marathon’s survivor division, despite finishing treatment two months earlier. Captain Neon is dedicating his first 70.3 to Catherine.

If you see Captain Neon on the course, please cheer him on, as he thrives on motivation from the crowd. A simple “good job Captain” or a high-five will certainly help me focus on finishing.
