Three ORR ladies raced the Conn's Green 10K on April 28th.  This race is  the premier eco-friendly green running event in Houston during Earth Week.  The Race is put on by our very own sponsor, Race Assist.

Aeri York competed on her first 10 K ever running an 8:03 min/mile that earned her 3rd place out of 83 ladies in the 40-44 AG.   Way to get started Aeri!
Stacy Baldrige, our athlete spotlight of the month, ran in 1:06 shaving more than 15 minutes from her participation in this event last year!
Tammy Darnell ran in 1:02.  She is just recently getting back to the sport and getting ready for Buffalo Springs 70.3.  Way to race Tammy!

This was another great day of accomplishments for the ORR crew!

Congrats to the 53 OutRival Racing triathletes who competed at CB&I Triathlon in the Woodlands on Saturday, May 5th. This 500 meter lake swim, 15 mile bike, and 5K run is held in the backyard of many ORR athletes.  It was a nice beautiful humid May day in Texas. Several athletes finished their first-ever triathlon and numerous PRs were set despite the tough climate.  Twenty-one athletes had the honor of receiving a podium award. As always, the ORR Team had incredible support out on the course! Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on!!

ORR Athletes Tearing it Up at Cycling Races!
03/29/12 05:21 AM
Congrats to ORR Cyclists for some incredible racing the last few weeks at several events.

James Engle and Clint Hankla raced the Fayetteville Stage Race and had good races, despite numerous mechanical issues. The race consists of 2 road races plus a short time trial.  Clint finished the first Stage (road race) with the pack, the second stage (the TT) he finished in 13th place, and finished the weekend out with a 12th place overall finish in the Cat 3 Men's. James started well on the first day and stayed with the pack in the Cat 4 Men's only to break a spoke in the final sprint. :-(  He raced well in the TT, finishing in the top half of his category. He was feeling good on the third stage (road race), but had a flat tire and last the pack. He fought his way back into the race and was able to finish with the second pack.  Way to go James and Clint!

Five ORR athletes raced the Ronde Von Manor Road Races this weekend and had great races.  Mandy Heintz raced both Saturday and Sunday road races, and Kathy and Terry Garrett raced one each.
Mandy races on the Shama Cycles Team, and finished 2nd place in the Women's Cat 4 on Saturday and 1st place at the Sunday road race! Kathy Garrett raced Saturday in the Cat 4s, and finished 9th out of over 20 riders. Terry Garrett raced Sunday and finished 8th in the Cat 5 men's category.  Audrey Manchester and Connor Barry raced in the Juniors' Category as part of the Southern Elite Team and did well. Audrey is coming back from being quite sick, so she was happy just to be back out there mixing it up. Connor helped his teammate get the win and finished second overall. Way to ride, ORR!

Congrats to several ORR athletes who raced across the country this last weekend.
Rick Thibodeaux and Triny Aguirre ran well at the Sugar Land Half Marathon last Sunday.  Rick Thibodeaux ran 1:50 for the half marathon. Triny Aguirre helped guide a visually impaired athlete, Tracy Minish, as he prepares for the Boston Marathon.  Together, Tracy, Triny, and Nigel got a great run in. Boston bound for this trio! Next up for Triny is the Memorial Hermann Half Ironman this weekend.
Bill Oliver had a great race at the Columbia Downtown Sprint Triathlon on Sunday with the fastest Clydesdale swim split! The competition was tough and he finished only 12 seconds after the first place athlete in his category!
Amy Hackman raced the Kal-Haven Trail Relay Run in Michigan this weekend and had a great time with her friends! Amy ran 8 miles of the 34 mile race in 1:09.
