Coach Michelle is founder and owner of OutRival Racing. She coaches age-groupers, amateur elites and professionals of all ages in triathlon, cycling, and running.  She is a former three-time NCAA All-American cross-country and track runner from the U.S. Air Force Academy and Rice University. Michelle has raced triathlons since 1992, and raced as a professional triathlete from 2007-2010.  She has competed in hundreds of triathlon, running and cycling races, including the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona. Michelle has earned Age Group honors of USAT National Age Group Champion, Long-Course Duathlon National Champion, second overall amateur at IRONMAN Texas and IRONMAN Arizona, and the Hvyee 5150 Amateur Elite National Champion.  She is also the three-time overall Texas Women’s Individual 40K Time Trial Champion.

Michelle has coached hundreds of athletes over the years in triathlon, cycling and running.  She has coached numerous age group triathletes to the professional level including athletes Todd Teren, Liz Baugher, Sarah Hankla, Grace Benes, Matt Hanson, and Scott Wilkinson.  She has coached over IRONMAN finishers of all levels and athletes of all ages.  Her coaching resume includes helping professional triathletes reach IRONMAN Podiums, the Hyvee 5150 National Championship, Collegiate National Podiums, numerous state and regional championships, and several national USAT Age Group National Podiums. She has coached Mandy Heintz from a Cat 4 cyclist to the Cat 1 level, and Mandy now races as a professional cyclist on the USA Cycling Team. Michelle has been privileged to work with elite level youth and juniors and helped several kids earn multiple USAT National Championships and IRONKIDS National Championships.  She has coached dozens of marathoners and numerous Boston Qualifiers. In addition to helping athletes reach higher performance levels, Michelle finds joy in helping athletes of all levels reach their own individual goals.
